The ‘Pure Go’ App has been discontinued for Highway 400 and 600

Why is this change happening?

Spotify have discontinued the software Application Programme Interface (API) that is used within the ‘Pure Go’ App. With this connection disabled the app loses its main function and becomes obsolete.

How will this affect me? 

• You will no longer be able to browse, select and play Spotify content by pressing the ‘Go’ button on the commander to enter ‘Spotify’ mode.
• You will no longer be able to ‘Tag’ a track you are listening to and add it to a Spotify playlist by long pressing the ‘Go’ button on the commander.

Will I still be able to listen to Spotify content on my Highway?

As an alternative you can open the ‘Spotify’ App on your phone and playback audio directly to Highway in Bluetooth mode, without using the ‘Pure Go’ App. You will be able to play/pause the current track and skip to the next and previous Spotify track via the dedicated keys on the Highway commander.

Will I still be able to stream music in BT mode and make and receive Hands Free calls?

Yes, as these functions do not require the ‘Pure Go’ App.

 You can pair your phone without the ‘Pure Go’ by following the steps below:

1. On Highway press the Home key and select SETTINGS - BLUETOOTH - PAIR and then scroll right to select BT MUSIC
    Note: do not select PURE GO APP at the PAIR stage
2. On the phone, pair with the new device called 'Highway xxxx' (where xxxx is a unique number for your Highway).
    Note: do not pair with the device called ‘Pure GO xxx’.
3. On Highway press the Home key and select BT Music mode
    Note: do not select ‘Spotify’ mode by pressing the ‘Go’ key on the commander.
4. You should now be able play music on your phone via Highway in ‘BT Music’ mode.

NOTE: DO NOT attempt to select audio content in the Spotify App on your phone while driving, any/all set up should be done while stationary before your drive.
