How to play audio files from a USB flash drive?

You wish to play audio files from a connected USB flash drive?


First connect your USB flash drive (USB stick) to the USB port on the back of your Classic H4i/Classic C-D6i.

Both Fat32 and exFat formatting are supported.

The supported audio formats are MP3, AAC/AAC+, OGG and Flac.



  1. Change the playback source to USB.

  2. Select whether ‘All music’ is listed or the content is displayed ‘By folder’.

  3. All music’ - all audio files on the USB stick are displayed in a list.

  4. By folder’ - all folders on the USB stick are displayed, followed by audio files located directly in the root directory.



  1. To start playback, select a track and confirm this by pressing the ‘Select’ control.

  2. You can switch between the tracks by turning the ‘Select’ dial.



Playback options:

  • While in playback, pressing the ‘Select’ dial repeatedly will toggle between continuous playback (no icon), single repeat, repeat all, and random playback.

  • By longer pressing the ‘Select’ control until the cursor starts to blink will allow you to skip forwards or backwards within a track.

  • You can pause playback by briefly pressing the ‘Volume’ control. Press the control again to resume playback.
